⛲️7th annual Children’s Water Festival ⛲️

The Cedar Bay Children’s Water Festival is a day of fun, educational, hands-on learning activities at Cedar Bay for Grade 5 students from Sioux Lookout and Lac Seul. Its purpose is to inspire children to appreciate and take care of water and related systems.
When: Thursday, May 16, 2024
What: 8 interactive learning activity centres for the students to rotate through ranging from Water Creatures and Ecosystems conducted by the Experimental Lakes Area to Gitchi Nibi led by Elder, Romaine Wesley.
Volunteers: 50 volunteers will be involved including teachers, parents, and community members.
This is the 7th annual Children’s Water Festival , made possible by all its partnerships. The following organizations support the festival through funding, in-kind contributions, staff support, use of Cedar Bay, transportation, and contribute to the overall success of the event: the Lakeshore Committee of the Friends of Cedar Bay, the Keewatin Patricia District School Board, The Municipality of Sioux Lookout, Salvation Army Thrift Store, Northwestern Catholic District School Board, Nishnawbe-Gamik Friendship Centre, Sioux Lookout Public Library, Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry, and the Experimental Lakes Area.
